Illustration - Kurse

This summer has been a hectic one. I have a job doing all of the art for an iPhone game that should be coming out this fall. I've also been writing and trying to sleep before school starts.

Anyway, my friend Matt Smith started this publication at MICA called The Rooster, and he generously let me publish one of my writing pieces in it. It's a short memoir about my best friend Kirsten (aka Kurse) and our adventures in 7th grade. Anyway, when he asked if I had a little illustration to go along with it, I couldn't help whipping this up.
I was sort of inspired by playing cards (but then again, when am I not?), and it also has a lot to do with the themes of my memoir. Also, still figuring out people in my style...bear with me.
